Construction Helper

Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas in and out of the shop

Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, signage and shoring required at construction sites

Mix, pour paint and prepare surfaces as per the painters requirements to complete tasks

Assist painter with daily activities

Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment, pipes, materials and provide assistance in other activities for sandblasting

Assist in aligning pipes and perform related activities in the shop for refinishing

Remove debris using shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows and other equipment to keep shop free of hazards and keep clean

Tend or feed machines or equipment used for mixing paint, compressors, hoses, and pumps

Clean up spills and other contaminants, and remove any debris form equipment

Oil and grease hoists and similar equipment as needed

Direct traffic for pick up of finished products and deliveries of new work to be completed

Perform other activities as directed

Past construction labour experience is an asset
Punctual
Attention to detail
Be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
Able to work standing for long periods
Be able to work on field jobs and outside
Able to work on the road for multiple weeks
Previous experience with sandblasting is an asset
Able to work in a safe manor
Able to work in a confined space
Ability to work on manlifts at high heights
Able to work outside in cold weather
