We are hiring a VP Technology to lead SolusGuard’s engineering organization with clarity, structure, and accountability.
In this leadership role you will own:
Technical leadership and standards

Alignment between technology and business goals
You'll partner closely with a Principal Architect, who owns deep backend architecture and execution, allowing you to focus on leadership rather than being pulled into daily coding.
Experience
8–15+ years in software engineering
3–5+ years in senior engineering leadership (Director, VP, Head of Engineering)
Experience leading teams across backend, mobile, and infrastructure
Experience with SaaS or safety-critical systems strongly preferred
Leadership Style
Calm, structured, and pragmatic
Comfortable making decisions and being accountable
Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Focused on building sustainable systems and teams
Technical Judgment
Strong systems thinking and architectural sensibility
Ability to challenge decisions and set standards without micromanaging
Experience managing risk, reliability, and scale

Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership
Own overall technical direction aligned with business priorities
Balance near-term delivery with long-term platform health
Make and enforce architectural and technical standards
Guide build vs. buy decisions and vendor relationships
Ensure the platform is enterprise-ready, secure, and scalable
Engineering Leadership
Lead and support a small, senior engineering team
Set clear expectations, priorities, and success metrics
Run effective planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Create a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
Delivery & Execution
Improve predictability and reduce reactive firefighting
Establish lightweight, effective delivery processes
Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success on priorities
Ensure commitments are realistic and met consistently
Infrastructure, Security & Risk
Own technical risk management and resilience
Oversee DevOps, infrastructure, and security practices
Ensure compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2) are met and maintained
Reduce single points of failure across systems and people
What This Role Does Not Require
Daily hands-on coding
Being the primary system architect
Acting as the sole technical escalation point
Technical depth matters — but leadership judgment matters more.
