  • Team effectiveness and accountability

  • Delivery predictability

  • Risk management and resilience

  • Alignment between technology and business goals

You'll partner closely with a Principal Architect, who owns deep backend architecture and execution, allowing you to focus on leadership rather than being pulled into daily coding.

Experience

  • 3–5+ years in senior engineering leadership (Director, VP, Head of Engineering)

  • Experience leading teams across backend, mobile, and infrastructure

  • Experience with SaaS or safety-critical systems strongly preferred

Leadership Style

  • Calm, structured, and pragmatic

  • Comfortable making decisions and being accountable

  • Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Focused on building sustainable systems and teams

Technical Judgment

  • Strong systems thinking and architectural sensibility

  • Ability to challenge decisions and set standards without micromanaging

  • Experience managing risk, reliability, and scale

Why This Role Matters
This role is critical to SolusGuard’s ability to:

  • Scale revenue with confidence

  • Support enterprise and government customers

  • Reduce operational risk

  • Build a technology organization that doesn’t depend on burnout

You’ll have real ownership, real influence, and a CEO who values clarity, trust, and people-first leadership.

SolusGuard builds systems that will be used in situations where every second is critical. As such we are committed to building resilient, robust and performant systems and take quality very seriously. We are a remote-based workforce with the option to work in offices in Regina or Saskatoon.
