Job Description:

Northbound Planning is a planning and development consulting firm that provides community and regional planning for municipalities across Saskatchewan. Our team
specializes in providing a full suite of services to municipalities, including: planning and development, asset management, and municipal governance support.

We work alongside local government and communities to create innovative solutions for
unique locations.

As we expand, we are looking for an Accountant who can take ownership of our financial operations, ensure accuracy and compliance, and provide reliable financial insights that support informed decision-making.

hours/week.

About the Role
The Accountant will manage all day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly and year-end accounting functions, payroll, and financial reporting. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing full-cycle accounting for a small business.

General Accounting & Reporting
 Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
 Ensure all financial data is accurately entered into QuickBooks.
 Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for CEO
review.
 Support year-end reporting, working papers, and external accountants as
needed.

Accounts Receivable
 Process all accounts receivable postings.
 Complete bi-monthly billing cycles.
 Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up as needed.
Accounts Payable
 Process all invoices, expenses, and vendor payments.
 Prepare cheques and EFTs for CEO approval.
 Maintain accurate and organized vendor records.

Payroll & Employee Expenses
 Review employee timesheets, enter employee hours and process monthly
payroll.
 Maintain payroll and employee expense records.
 Ensure compliance with statutory payroll requirements.
Financial Controls & Compliance
 Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
 Support cash flow monitoring and variance analysis.
 Complete tax filings.
 Maintain and improve internal accounting processes.

Job Requirements:

Remote based position
CPA designation.
Minimum 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and OneDrive.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to meet timelines and manage multiple priorities.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Experience in a small business environment is an asset.
