Sheet Metal Worker

Job Description:

Layout and install Ductwork and equipment in all areas of commercial and residential sheet metal, including but not limited to:

Responsible for the leading and coordination of assigned projects in a safe and productive manner.
Ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed
Interpret building plans and specifications to determine the layout for the ductwork and other materials
Have the ability to organize other workers as well as train apprentices.
Be able to produce drawings for custom fabrication
Use shop bending, turning, and cutting machines to fabricate ductwork and fittings
Installation of ducting and related HVAC equipment such as make up air units, rooftop units, furnaces, air conditioners, fan coils, exhaust fans
Install and use rigging and hoisting equipment
Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications.
Fit and join sheet metal parts, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, and heat ducts, material handling systems.
Mentor and train sheet metal apprentice
Maintain a clean, safe working area at all times
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Previous experience as a metal worker or in a similar role minimum 1 year
Proficiency in using hand tools and other metalworking equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Valid journeyman certificate or Red Seal
