Truck Driver

Job Description:

Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes
Operate long-combination vehicle weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes
Keep truck and shop clean when using
Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transportation
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books
Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers
May perform minor emergency roadside repairs
May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.

Job Requirements:

Class 1A is required
Acceptable drivers abstract (no more than 2 incidents in 3 years)
Punctual
Attention to detail
Mechanically inclined
Positive attitude
Work well as a team and independently
Strong customer service skills
Able to lift min 50 lbs repeatedly
LCV experience is an asset

.52 single per mile and .55 LCV per mile
