Glazing / Cladding Estimator

Job Description:

· Review bid packages and contracts.
· Conduct take-offs.
· Prepare, coordinate and track RFI's, submittals, change orders and material orders.
· Prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
· Conduct site inspections.
· Participate in quality control inspections and improvements.
· Collaborate with management to negotiate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
· Keep complete and accurate records, including budgets, schedules, and progress reports.
· Expected to represent the company in a professional and respectable manner by properly coordinating and communicating between the field, management, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors.

Job Requirements:

General Requirements:
- Have appropriate knowledge of precise measuring and arithmetic.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management.
• Must have a minimum of (2) years commercial estimating experience with various sized projects.
• Experience with Glazier Studio, Bluebeam
• Able to analyze architectural details and shop drawings.
• Must be able to make material takeoffs, obtain quotes from suppliers, review and confirm accuracy of orders.
• Experience with overseeing glass and glazing projects that include curtainwall, storefront, entrances, canopies, handrail, skylights, and interior glazing. Experience in architectural panel.
• Proficient at understanding and translating construction plans, drawings and specifications and generating accurate take-offs and estimates.
• Ability to manage project and field installation, procurement, RFI’s, project managing documentation including close-outs and punch out; compile estimates for value engineering; negotiate pricing with vendor/subcontractors.
• Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be a motivated team player.
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software such as Glaziers Studio. Knowledge with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.
