Job Description:

Conduct research, produce reports and administer education policies and programs
Evaluate curriculum programs and recommend improvements
Develop the structure, content and objectives of new programs
Conduct statistical analyses to determine cost and effectiveness of education policies and programs
Provide ongoing professional development, training and consultative services to teachers and other professionals throughout the public and private sector
Develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery
Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops and symposia
May supervise the work of other education policy researchers, consultants or program officers
May administer specialized testing and assessment programs.



• Working with the pedagogical leadership team to implement the school’s Strategic Plan and the development of policies and procedures for the effective implementation of the IB PYP programme.
• Gathering evidence of school’s achievements to lead school through a successful PYPExternal Evaluation process.
• Leading the PYP curriculum to guide the learning at the school ensuring a balanced programme of inquiry.
• Creating effective systems and structures for documenting the history of the programme of inquiry.
• Helping classroom teachers to design, prepare, implement, reflect, evaluate, andreportlearning experiences that align with BC Curriculum and the IB PYP curriculum framework.
• Collaborating with and motivating teachers to share new ideas, approaches, and professional knowledge.
• Leading the learning in Information Communication Technology (ICT) at the school.
• Contributing to the extra-curricular programmesoffered within the school environment – particularly leadership roles within the school for student agency.
• Collaborating with the OkanaganLanguage Team to integrate First Nations Language and Culture into the program of inquiry and daily instructional practice where applicable.
• Understanding and implementing trauma informed strategies to support the emotional health of student population.

Job Requirements:

• B.C. Teacher Regulation Branch Certification at least in process
• Previous successful experience as a PYP Coordinator
• IB PYP Workshop Training such as the Role of the Curriculum Coordinator or Leading the Learning in Primary Years
• Experience working in a First Nations school environment a strong asset
• Willingness to learn the Okanagan Language alongside students.
• At least 10 years of experience in the position
